Zone Martial Arts has programs for everyone at our Miranda club.  Korean Self Defence, Taekwondo, Swords (Gumdo), Taekyun, Zen Yoga/Sunmudo and Functional Fitness Classes are all taught in our full time Sutherland Shire location with classes in Martial Arts from 4 years old and up.



Learning practical self defence techniques is a vital skill not only to defend yourself if you require it, but also to improve confidence and self belief. 

Hosinsool is a martial art style based on Taekwondo and Taekyun techniques and delivers a fully functional and end to end self defence program. 

 Students will develop essential qualities of self-control, will power and determination alongside humility, loyalty, and respect, while also improving fitness, flexibility and coordination.

The Zen Balance class is a mix of Sunmudo Seon Yoga, QiGong Excercises, Martial Arts and Meditation. The class combines these components to bring practitioners a challenging and fun experience while allowing them to improve their physical and mental well-being.



Functional Fitness prepares the body for real-life movements and activities. Movements such as squatting, reaching, pulling and lifting will be made easier with functional fitness integrated into your exercise routine. 



The Little Dragons (ages -6) 

program is designed to teach kids confidence, focus, co-ordination, fitness, basic motion skills and hand eye co-ordination. It’s a fun filled high energy class teaching traditional martial arts skills and personal safety techniques. Taught in a friendly environment your child will learn important life skills from experienced qualified instructors.

The Dragons class is based on Taekwondo skills and Taekyun skills.

Taekwondo is a martial art not just for fighting or self-defence, but one  that aims to develop essential qualities of self-control, will power and determination.

Powerful patterns are a key component to this style and help students visualize and deliver techniques in a dynamic manner.

The discipline of the sport also improves self-confidence and aids in a student’s ability to cope with situations of stress.



On top of the Swords and Hopaesool training that are part of our Gumdo and Taekyun classes, Zone Martial Arts also teaches single and double sticks as well as long staff. 



Haidong Gumdo is an elegant and powerful ancient Korean Sword Martial Art. It’s more physically demanding than it looks; it builds great physical, mental and emotional strength. It draws from battlefield tactics and techniques to build a curriculum for mental, physical and spiritual development. Students learn forms, step drills, sitting and moving meditation, sparring as well as bamboo and straw cutting. Unlike Kendo and its Korean equivalent, Kumdo, the focus in Haidong Gumdo is not duelling but on the tactics of outdoor, pitched battles.



Taekyun (sometimes called Taekkyeon) is a very old & traditional martial art. It is extremely effective as self defence and is great for people of all ages and fitness levels. It has a focus on natural and flowing movements and stances and helps to develop concentration, power and dynamic flexibility.

Private training is available and allows students to focus on specific aspects of thier martial arts journey in a one on one basis.
